LCL (Less Container Load) Quotes:

LCL quotes are based on the space your goods occupy. Your belongings are carefully palletized or crated to protect them during shipping. It's essential to calculate your chargeable volume accurately to avoid surprises. The following options may be included, depending on the type of service chosen:

  • Option #1: Full Packing - Our movers pack all furniture and boxes and provide an inventory for customs.
  • Option #2: Partial Packing - Our movers handle furniture packing, while you pack the boxes.
  • Option #3: Self Packing - This option applies if you have only boxes or suitcases. For furniture, our movers can handle the pick-up and export preparation. Please ensure you have a valued packing list for customs, describing the items in your boxes.

FCL (Full Container Load) Quotes:

For larger shipments that require a full container, we offer FCL services. Unlike many competitors, we don't charge based on volume. Instead, our rates are based on the services needed. Choose from the following options:

  • Option #1: Full Packing - Our movers pack all items, including furniture, boxes, and provide an inventory for customs.
  • Option #2: Partial Packing - You pack the boxes, and our movers handle the furniture packing.
  • Option #3: Self Loading - You pack all items, do your own inventory for customs, and have the option to load the container with a live-load. We provide 2 free hours, and additional hours are charged accordingly. Alternatively, we can drop off and pick up the container for up to 3 days for you to load.

  • Inventory for Customs: We assist in preparing the necessary inventory documentation for customs clearance.
  • Container Loading: We secure your goods inside the container, ensuring their safe transportation.
  • Transportation: We handle the transportation of your container from the port or ramp to your new residence, including loading and lashing of vehicles if needed.
  • Export Documents: We handle the customs formalities at origin, ensuring your household goods comply with all regulations.
  • Ocean Freight: We arrange reliable ocean freight services to transport your shipment.
  • Destination Services: We handle destination customs clearance and terminal handling charges, ensuring a smooth delivery process.
  • Delivery and Unloading: Our team will deliver your belongings to your new residence, unload them, and assist with unwrapping and debris removal.

Please note that for LCL shipments, it's essential to be mindful of potential additional volume charges. In such cases, we offer options to help you stay within your budget:

  1. Remove unwanted items from your inventory to match the quoted volume, with a warehouse fee of $35 per hour (2-hour minimum).
  2. Ship additional volume at the quoted rate per cubic foot (CFT) for additional space.
  3. Choose to pick up the freight and select a different shipping route after payment of origin and warehousing costs.

Free In-House Estimates

We offer free in-house estimates in most locations across the US, providing you with accurate pricing and personalized advice for your move. Please note that in some instances, location constraints may prevent us from offering in-house estimates. We also offer estimates via Zoom or Skype

Understanding Common Charges and Fees in Your International Moving Quote. International Shipping terms & definitions 
 

We aim to be as transparent as possible about potential costs related to your move. Below are some common charges that may apply, along with easy-to-understand explanations. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

Crating

Some fragile or high-value items, such as pianos, artwork, or marble tables, require custom wooden crates for safe transportation. If your items need crating, this will be included in your final charges.

Customs Duty

When shipping internationally, customs duty is a tax imposed by the destination country on imported goods. This cost varies depending on the country, item type, and value.

Demurrage (Port Storage Fees)

If your shipment remains at the port beyond the allotted free time, demurrage fees apply. These are charged by the port or shipping line for the continued use of their space and equipment.

Destination Terminal Handling Charge (DTHC)

This is a mandatory handling fee charged by the destination port for unloading and processing shipments. It is typically paid upon arrival and is billed in the local currency unless included in your quote.

Duties & Taxes

Duties are government-imposed taxes on imported goods. These may be:

  • Ad Valorem Duty: Based on the value of the item.
  • Specific Duty: Based on the weight or quantity rather than the item’s value.

Extra Labor

If additional services are needed beyond standard transportation—such as disassembling furniture, carrying items up multiple flights of stairs, or handling oversized items—extra labor charges may apply.

Extra Stop

Your quote includes pickup from one location and delivery to one location. If additional stops are required (e.g., picking up items from a second home or storage unit), a flat fee applies per stop.

Long Carry Fee

This applies when our movers need to carry items an excessive distance from the truck to your residence. This may also include staircases in buildings without elevator access.

Packing Services

  • If you are self-packing, you must ensure that all items are securely packed in proper moving boxes.
  • If you need professional packing, our crew will provide materials and assistance. Charges will be finalized on moving day based on the number of boxes packed.
  • Items that are not packed correctly may not be transported for safety reasons.

Shuttle Service

If your home is not accessible by our standard moving truck, we may need to use a smaller vehicle (shuttle) to complete the move. This commonly applies in areas with narrow streets, low bridges, or gated communities.

Unpacking Services

Basic unpacking includes:

  • Removing items from boxes and placing them on a flat surface.
  • Disposing of packing debris.

Unpacking does not include putting items away in cabinets or closets unless arranged as an additional service.

Parking Permits (If Required)

Some cities or residential areas require a temporary parking permit for moving trucks. If a permit is needed:

  • The customer is responsible for arranging the permit in advance.
  • If we need to arrange it, additional fees may apply.
  • Failure to secure a permit can result in fines or delays.
