Typical International Shipment Timeline

1. PickupPacking, pickup, loading, or self-load service is completed.
2. Warehouse / TerminalShipment is processed for export, consolidation, or terminal delivery.
3. Vessel DepartureContainer departs from the port of loading once released by the carrier.
4. Arrival OverseasShipment arrives at destination port and moves through clearance.
5. Delivery SchedulingDestination agent coordinates delivery after customs and port release.

Vessel Tracking

Once your shipment has departed, you may search by vessel name on third-party marine tracking websites. External tracking may not show every shipment in real time.

Carrier Container Tracking

If you have a container number or bill of lading number, you may also search directly through the ocean carrier website.

Important: Vessel schedules, arrival dates, customs clearance, inspections, port operations, and delivery availability may change without prior notice. External vessel and carrier websites are provided as helpful tools, but official shipment updates should be confirmed directly with East Coast Shipping or the assigned destination agent.

Common Tracking Questions

Why does tracking sometimes show no result?

Tracking may not appear until the container is loaded, released to the carrier, or the vessel has departed. Groupage and LCL shipments may move under a master consolidation container.

Can sailing dates change?

Yes. Ocean freight schedules are estimates and may change due to weather, port congestion, customs exams, vessel delays, equipment availability, or carrier adjustments.

Who contacts me for delivery?

For door delivery shipments, the destination agent usually contacts you once the shipment has arrived, cleared customs, and is available for scheduling.
